    Default Enfield 410 rounds

Does anyone know if the 410 shot shell ammo that was made specifically for the converted Enfield rifles is compatible with normal 410 shotguns ?

They Enfield 410 is different. It is supposed to be a metal cartridge that it loaded length is shorter than the typical loaded 2-1/2" 410 shell. But what people forget about when shooting standard 410 in an Enfield is the standard 410 has to unfold, which puts the shell into the bore when it fires.

A common remedy was to ream the chamber longer.

The Enfield 410 ammo should work in a standard 410 shotgun because it is slightly shorter.

Thanks - I wasn't sure. I thought it would be neat ammo to shoot in my Safir 410, especially seeing it needs short casing to fit the mags properly, or my old school Sears and Roebuck pump. I couldn't see why it wouldn't work, just did not want to find out the hard way!

Also standard paper or plastic .410 shotshells will not chamber in one of the Enfield .410 muskets. One must use the brass case British Commonwealth rounds.

Try Dan's Ammo for a supply of these. They were in stock last time I was there.

You guys are awesome - thanks with the info, just ordered and saved $100 + compared to where I was going to buy it! I thought the round and the tin in crate was "neat" but other guy wanted $155 !
