I like the grip. Has a bit of over exaggerated teeth bite into the meat of your hand, but it is not nearly as bad as some of the "tactical" 1911 checkering I have felt. I like the angle (close to a 1911) though it is wide (double stack 45). I actually like the grip a lot, and it is one of the most well balanced and accurate "plastic" pistols i have ever shot. Very controllable with recoil being rearward push more so than an upward snap. They do have replaceable back straps to add a palm swell if you like that sort of thing.

I found my base model FNP 45 for $475 used about 5 years ago.. It was a set originally from one of the big sports stores that came with 3 mags and a Blade-tech holster and mag carrier Mine looked like it had less than 50 rounds through it. Maybe they did hate the grip...

New Tactical models (Threaded barrel, higher sights for use with a suppressor, replaceable Red dot mounting plate already cut into top slid) are going to be over $1,000.

FN stuff is not cheap, but it ain't HK prices either. You are getting serious quality for the price.
I'll add to that, the FNX 45's are less bulky in hand than a Glock 21 even tho they carry 2 more rounds. I think this is because they made the grip/mags longer to get the extra rounds in. Maybe someone with both guns can confirm that.

Everything else moshan says is true, not difficult at all to shoot, and very easy to operate with gloves on too.

The screws that Trijicon included with it had a generous amount of blue thread locker on it. Hopefully it hold up

I love the way a scar looks, but their stocks kill the appearance for me.

Bump. I edited the first post with more pics. Enjoy. Almost didn't keep the 17 until I got a proper scope for it and realized it was capable of sub moa accuracy

I got my hands on an fnx the other day and was about set to buy it except I hated the way the decock dug into my thumb. I run a very high grip and it didn't sit well with me. Such is life

I got rid of my FNX 9mm for that very reason. I don't seem to have that issue with the 45acp, probably due to the thicker grip.
