Default Philly zoo - cc poll

I know they have a policy but I've never spotted the signage at the entrance to ban firearms in the zoo.

So I'm curious - how many cc there anyway, despite the policy?

    Thanks

    Hb

I haven't been there since I was a kid. If for some crazy reason I ended up there again I would carry.

    Who actually owns the zoo?
Or is this political subdivision crap...like fairgrounds?

You know, I don't actually know who owns the zoo or the land it's on so I'm not sure where the ban stems from- I just know that our frequent visits there is one if the reasons I started to exercise my right to carry.

Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.

This subject has been brought up before. Take a look at this post:

    http://forum.pafoa.org/general-2/294...lphia-zoo.html

    from this thread:

    http://forum.pafoa.org/384658-post-55.html

That said, my wife and I are members of the Zoo and go several times a year, I've never seen a no guns sign nor have I heard of an official policy regarding guns either. I never seen metal detectors or pat downs.

Here's a few more threads, decide for yourself.

    What policy?

I have been a member for years and take the kids several times a year and have never seen any indication of any policy on guns.

Now, I never go out of my way to look for anyone's policy. If your sign does not jump in my face, you did not effectively notify me that you do not want guns on your property.

Anyway, I cc at the zoo every time I am there.

The Philadelphia Zoological Society makes the rules.

The rules say that no one aside from the police may carry firearms in the zoo. If a person is discovered carrying a weapon, they will be asked to remove said weapon from the park, at which point, sans gun, they will be welcome to continue enjoying the park's facilities.

If at any time the person with the firearm "refuses to comply" with this request, the local police will be called and they will handle the situation.

I'll dig through my OC Log to see if I can find the appropriate post from the encounter I had last year with their head of security.

Where did you read/see this? Have a link? I've been a member for a long time and can't recall ever seeing such a policy in writing.

Considering you have to drive through the zoo to get to the zoo, I always carried. I never saw any signs either, so that's good enough for me to continue carrying.
