    IANAL.

From my understanding, ALL handgun transfers, whether in PA or from another out of state (excepting certain family transactions), MUST go through an FFL (which includes NICS).

I'm not going to quote you're post. What you just admitted to on a public forum is illegal. If I were you I would delete this post immediately. I will send you a private message explaining.

What the OP did wasn't illegal. What the female friend did was illegal since the seller has the legal burden in PA. The gun technically is contraband now since it is a product of a crime.

HOWEVER, you could transfer it to yourself as an act of good faith. You would have to take it to a FFL, have him add it to his bound book, then you would fill out the standard purchase paperwork, the FFL would do a background check, then it would be yours. ...you'd of course have to pay the FFL for his transfer service, and the gun would end up in the "database" after that. Also, the FFL would have to be friendly/knowledgeable to self-to-self transfers.

In the end the gun would still be contraband after all of that, but you would have made some attempt to "legalize" it to the best of your abilities.
