Thanks for the info. Yeah, something's not right.
Hope it works out for the owner. I was looking forward to this range opening soon.

I'll just continue to shoot over the swamps,, no issues there. we go up the mountain a bit and use the mountain for a backstop use a steel target so we leave no mess..

Where are the swamps you are talking about until it gets open. I'm in Exeter.

the demographics to make a range work:
at least 300,000 people in a 2 to 3 mile radius of the range with at least an income of 42K

If this range does make its way to open I don't see it staying long OR the prices will be insane
Ranges work great in big cities.

Well...it took awhile! We wish this would have been easy. But...we are FINALLY coming to Luzerne County, hoping to open by Thanksgiving. The Cabin Armory and Training Center will be located off of Route 315 in Wilkes-Barre (behind Isabella's restaurant). We have passed zoning, our final blueprints are expected any day, and we will be ordering our equipment. Our plan is to build a two story range with 10 lanes in each bay. The lanes will be 75' long and will have returning targets. Being a training facility means we will have many classes from beginner to advanced. The facility will also have a retail area, rental guns so you can try before you buy, a firearms simulator, and a café/lounge area. Like us on Facebook, watch our progress at www.cabinrange.com and sign up for our mailing list by emailing join@cabinrange.com

Many years ago (early 70s) there was a range in the middle of Wilkes-Barre City, located on Ruddle St., across from Frank's Lumber. I visited often, even though the hourly rate was enormous. I usually used it for sighting-in scoped hanguns and testing various loads when the weather didn't cooperate. It failed within about 3 years, due mostly to the range fee. In fairness, the owner said the majority of the fees went to his insurance premiums.
I also used a range down near Copley, called The Firing Line, but that, too, went under last year. The fees weren't too awful bad, but they got a lot of undesirables frequenting the place on weekends from sorta-neighboring Philly.
I hope this one comes to pass, 'cause I got a laser-equipped CCW piece I want to dial in.

Any updates on this place? Are they still scheduled to open in November?
