I doubt I would get out of the vehicle. Although I would have possibly considered drawing inside if possible.

Exiting seems like a bad idea, but it could have been your only option.
^^^^^^ this. Plan ahead. Leave yourself an out. Don't get boxed in. Don't get out of your car unless it has been incapacitated. Your sitting in a 3000 lb weapon, sitting in a steel safety cage, capable of moving much faster than you can ever run.

IF you need to shoot through glass fire at least two rounds - remember the first shot won't do a thing but make you a hole in which the second shot should pass straight through.

All that said, I'm still not reading anything that would get my SA tingling, unless you were in a very bad section of town?

Maybe he was completely enamored by your mighty shirt, or was it covered by the plate carrier?

Seriously, were you high? Either so much is left out, or I'm missing the big picture on my own...

And yeah, don't get out of your whip unless you have no other option.

PA castle doctrine extends to your vehicle... at least until you exit it. I suggest not performing that step.

I'm always hesitant to comment on "what if" situations, because I wasn't there.

    For me:
Check area around vehicle, even in my garage.
    Start vehicle.
Lock doors, no matter where I am.
Leave plenty of space between vehicles for an escape route, if possible.
I feel I'm safer in a locked vehicle than confronting someone outside it. If someone tries to get in or break a window, it's Show Time.
