How many LTCF licenses has PA issued to date?

All I could find was what was issued in 2012 and how many were issued (total) through 2009:

There were a total of 245,444 licenses to carry firearms issued as reported by county sheriffs’
offices and chiefs of police of cities of the first class in 2012. This is a 46 percent increase over
the number of permits issued in 2011.

2014's report isn't available yet from the PSP, probably by around August it will be. If the recent trend is similar this year as the past couple years - we should break 1 million active licenses(or actually have already, just waiting on the report to prove it).

It's amazing that a breakdown between counties from 2009 to 2013 almost every county has seen a 30% rise to almost doubling the amount of LTCFs issued. Very glad to see that---the more carriers the better for the "cause".

Unfortunately, Florida passed us up just a few years ago. PA had the #1 position for many many many years. But Florida's higher number is easy to explain with it being one of the favorites for non-residents, and with a much higher population.

What gets me is Texas. TX has just about twice as many residents, but over 284K less licensees, and they have no-unlicensed option aside from long guns and in-car carry. TX is supposedly one of those "gun loving" states, but their numbers of licensees is less than half the percentage of PA's.

Did they pass us because out of state permits in PA can't be don't via mail anymore and must be done FTF? BTW, when did they start doing it that way?
