Re: Military sidearm
looking for a discussion on the new US Military Sidearm.
Any new news?
Last I read, they were going .45. The requirements: SA/DA, External Hammer,
Then they listed no failures in 10,000 rounds. No parts change is 30,000 rounds
and so on.
My numbers are off but you get the idea.
They had cancelled three times or more. Are they going ahead this time??
~Thanks~

I can't site the sourse but somewhere in my mind I recollect something about the Sig P227. Might be because of the PA State Police though.

Re: Military sidearm
The last list I have seen was short.
Sig 227 was on it. Also H&K Tactical .45 & FnL .45
The last requirements I saw I mentioned above.
This is been going on for years. First they said - replacing all sidearms, then cancelled. Next was replacing just Special Forces- then cancelled.
Now they are back to replacing all again. But I heard USMC has already gone to a 1911/45 type.
Would be nice to know where the truth is and who is pulling all the strings.NRA - LIFE / ENDOWMENT MEMBER
