    I missed that in the OP. I agree with you. You can't enter a skeet shoot and bring along a borrowed howitzer "just in case."

    If your dad has his license to carry just take his car.

    § 6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license.

    (b) Exceptions.--The provisions of subsection (a) shall not
    apply to:

    (13) Any person who is otherwise eligible to possess a
    firearm under this chapter and who is operating a motor
    vehicle which is registered in the person's name or the name
    of a spouse or parent and which contains a firearm for which
    a valid license has been issued pursuant to section 6109 to
    the spouse or parent owning the firearm.

    The more I read this exception and think about it the more it seems to say to me that you can transport your parents or spouses firearm even in your own vehicle as long as they have a ltcf but I've never heard anyone discuss it in that context on poofa. Thoughts from you students of the UFA?

    I would agree, HOWEVER, I would bet that this is one of those things that most LEO don't know about, and either won't check, or won't comprehend it if they do.

    I'd expect it would ultimately be my attorney raising the point, rather than a cop saying "my bad" and sending me on my merry way.
