Is anyone missing a pet?
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
- Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Re: Is anyone missing a pet?
Oh dear God, tell me that is not real.....
"The rifle is the weapon of democracy. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military. The hired servants of our rulers. Only the government-and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws." (Edward Abbey, "The Right to Arms," Abbey's Road [New York, 1979])
I have my rifle. Do you?

Re: Is anyone missing a pet?
looks very much like the "cat" we lost not long ago.
He was getting into and out of the pet door and mosying around the neighbors houses.
My wife took out the compost and he was only out of sight for a few minutes and was gone forever. We are pretty sure a redtailed hawk got him.
He was a rescue like 8 of our 9 pets are presently and was about 8 or 9 years old when we lost him. I spent hours and hours in the woods and around the neighborhood looking on 3 or 4 days. We now have 3 dogs 3 real cats and 3 cats that kinda sorta look like that pic.
can't let my wife read that

Re: Is anyone missing a pet?
I hope this cat has been found by now I posted this a week ago. I still want to know who the brave soul was that checked to see if it was a male.

Re: Is anyone missing a pet?
That reminded me of this best of craigslist:
http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sea/687162102.html
"Hi, I found a cat today near the arboretum. She's black with white stripes down her back. She seems a little standoffish. Does not get along well with children.
She doesn't have a collar, but seems to be an indoor cat and went without hesitation for a can of cat food I opened for her.
I think she's been away from home a while. She's quite smelly. May need a bath.
Please e-mail me to claim. Small rehoming fee (to cover the cost of the litterbox and cat food)."
