Default Mounting a gopro or smartphone to a magnified scope??

Has anyone attempted a DIY version of this? I don't have an I-phone which seems to be the only option for the phone mount.

I was just seeing if you guys had any recommendations on how to go about mounting either a gopro or smart phone to look through a magnified scope. I was initially looking at gopro weaver mounts but the lens of the gopro is off center and would not properly line up with the optics.

I bought a mount from an ebay seller. Actually, I bought two of his gopro mounts. The one was designed for shotguns/rifles. It's pretty cool as you can mount it if you have a picatinny rail, or you can mount it on the rifle/shotgun barrel or mount it directly onto the scope tube.

I also bought his bow mount...the bow mount is also modular as well.

I have a very good gopro clone camera and the mounts used are the same as for the gopro.

ETA: He's got some other mounts available as well.

If you buy multiples, ask him for combined shipping, that's what I did since his shipping was expensive for the size/weight of the items.

Looks like that are half to more then half the price of a real GoPro.

On a side note if you just want something that might work try using a silicone coupler from the scope to your cam. Depending on the stiffness of the coupler it should support the weight of the cam nicely. It's a cheap alternative.

Most of the guys buying the clone gopros are using them on their quad copters and other rc...they are buying them directly from China.

I bought mine from B&H in the US since I was in a hurry to get the camera in my hands ASAP. B&H offers free shipping...I went with the WiFi version since you can use your Andriod/Iphone to view the camera. Honestly, the WiFi is cool, but I could do without the feature and it cost more than the non WiFi version.

The awesome thing about the SJ4000 is it comes with a ton of adapters and accessaries.

    Non Wi Fi

If you are not in a rush, you can buy them cheaper directly from China.

I've used mine for my hunts and for family functions. Awesome little camera at a great price.

I ended up buying a silicone connector that fits around my scope. I super glued the waterproof housing to the end of the tube and then cut it so it was the right distance of eye relief. Ill report back with results. Luckily I have an extra water proof case laying around in case this is a flop. Total expenses were around 1.75 for the connector and glue

Look up Mag-Fed Paintball on facebook, it is group on there and I know a lot of guys have made this mod for crossbow scopes but I'm sure it would translate to your needs.

You could also look up paintball scope phone mount and I believe you will find what you need as well.
