    Default Handgun Scope

Can anyone put me onto a good handgun scope? Particularly for a S&W 357 Magnum.

I'm currently using a Millet RedDot I inherited when I got the gun. It works great, when it works. Haven't had to adjust in 10+ years, killed many deer. Excessive battery use, dot flickers, etc. It is at least 15 years old, top of the line when it was new, but just old.

What I would prefer is a 1-2x scope, not an electronic dot or crosshairs. Just the basic handgun scope. I've looked numerous places, but everything seems to have "levels" and "colors" and "different types of crosshairs." I don't care about any of that, just a scope that works. Also prefer black in color to match the gun, but this is not a necessity.

    Thanks for any help.

I have a swift 2x20 and I like it. Pretty simple design and basic reticle.

Looks like they are going for @ $100 on Amazon now. I have had mine for a while, so not sure if that is a good price or if you can do better.

What is the eye relief for your set up? I need 17-19" and the details of that scope look like it is only 13".

Never measured it. I got a good deal on it at a gun show a few years ago. I had planned on using it on a super Blackhawk, but never mounted it. I tried it on my ak as a scout scope and ended up not liking the configuration. It held zero fine mounted on the ak though. If I get a chance I'll try and measure the eye relief tonight and update for you.
