    Default New pistol....what to get

So pondering a new pistol. This will be a range toy, HD gun, etc. Planning to mount a light to it, and maybe carry now and then. M current leanings are 3rd gen smith, cz 75, or beretta 96. I want .40 and railed and hammer/decocker perhaps.

    Give me your thoughts!

Check out the F&N FNP pistols. .
They have everything you want, are extremely reliable and affordable.

The CZ 75 is one of the most underrated pistol out there for what your looking for it would be my 1st choice. As mentioned above FN is another great option that can meet all your needs.

Or you can go G19 it's the best striker fired 9mm out of all the .40 cal hammer fired pistols out there.

CZ-75B, or one of their other full size, all steel pistols like the SP-01. Very accurate, reliable, and they feel great in the hand. If you can't find the CZ locally, get one from Buds or another on line supplier, and have it transferred through an FFL locally.

Second choice would be a 92FS.

Everybody is going to chime in with their favorites. I am trying not to do that. I will, however, say that you can do a lot worse than that 3RD Gen Smith, and there is a not-so-well-known model that can make the experience less expensive. I own a Smith & Wesson Model 915, a model that made a friend of mine, a former competition shooting coach and definite S&W snob say "a what?" He'd never heard of it.
It's essentially a model 5904 with an aluminum alloy frame, a blued finish, blade sights instead of Novak, and right-hand-only controls instead of ambidextrous. These differences made it less expensive. They are, however, 15-round absolute tack drivers. 17-round flush fit and 20-round extended magazines are available at Mec-Gar. Mine has eaten every 9mm round I have fed it.
It fits all 5900 series leather.
    Here's one:

If you can't tell, I am a fan.
NOTE: Model 915, NOT model 910. Two different pistols, and the 910 is not as desirable and doesn't fit 5900 leather.

I did not mean to go on like that, just trying to help. Good luck with your decision.

CZ-75. It's one of the best pointing guns I have. All steel.
