Default M92 FORM 1 SBR QUESTIONS

Hi Poofa, I have 2 questions for those of you that have sbr'd a Yugo M92 pistol.

For box (4a) Name and Location of Original Manufacturer of Firearm - I'm pretty sure this box will get (C.A.I. GEORGIA, VT) since they imported and engraved the pistol. However I've seen conflicting statements saying it should be ZASTAVA, SERBIA...

And box (4c) regarding CALIBER- I assume it should be 7.62x39MM since that's what is engraved on the receiver? Again, I have seen conflicting statements on other sites saying applications were rejected for using 7.62x39MM and that ONLY 7.62 should be put in this block.

I don't want to get an error letter and will appreciate any help or advice given, Thanks

Im not an expert on NFA, but you are the one building the SBR.
So I think your name and address is what they want in box 4

This is regarding 4A not 4H, my info goes in 4H.

No, just got LEO signature yesterday. Zastava is for sure, the 7.62 vs 7.62x39 is where there seems to be some discussion. I have heard a couple people had problems when adding the x39, so 7.62 seemed like the safe option to me.
All of the new examiners will hopefully continue to lead to shorter approval times, but it's also going to be more opinions as to what is right or wrong.

Thanks for for the info Matt! I'm going to give ATF a call tomorrow and ask for clarification regarding the caliber, but I think you're right using 7.62, one of my friends said to use the same. I'll post back after I talk to them. Thanks again for the reply.

I believe that 7.62 is the caliber, while 7.62x39 is the cartridge.

I've had one approved with 7.62x39mm listed as caliber and:

    Zastava Arms
    Kragujevac, Serbia

    in block 4a.

However, seeing as ATF seems to change their opinion on a form by form basis, if I were doing one tomorrow, I'd probably use Zastava, Serbia in block 4a and 7.62 as the caliber.

I also listed C.A.I. Georgia, VT in 4h along with my info.

    YMMV. Best of luck.
