Luzerne County Jury Duty
After 25 years of being excused, they finally said "DENIED" to my request.
As a self employed person, I stand to loose not only jobs, but clients that expect ME to show up when needed. Ahhhh.... WTF.... who cares..... I personally would love to serve, I just don't want to deal with the loss of work and money.
Anyway, I plan to go to the Luzerne County courthouse armed and use the lock boxes- anyone here use the Luzerne County boxes?
I have read many threads about it and I wonder if anyone had a knife issue while checking the firearm. I mean, is there a chance that some dim-whitted sheriff deputy will say "this is longer than my four fingers, better check with W-B City"?
I figured I'd carry my Glock 31, 17 round reload and my scariest Benchmade folder. I may cover my serial number with a bit of rubber cement to see if the jack-booted-thugs attempt an illegal search. With great power comes great responsibility....

No snow yet...
Back on topic, I've never had an issue carrying with Luzerne County's courthouse. However, I'll admit that I never carried a knife into the courthouse to be checked.
Back off topic...
Good luck if you get picked for Hugo's trial. Jury selection for it is scheduled to start on Monday.

Re: Luzerne County Jury Duty
When I had jury duty in Mont Co , I had to go thru metal detectors and get scanned and patted down and remove EVERY piece of metal , boots , belt , etc in the morning and after return from lunch.
I don't speak English , I talk American!

Re: Luzerne County Jury Duty
I have no experience in your county, but I was called for jury duty in Montgomery County a few years ago. The went into a lock box -- no issues -- but I has a small Swiss Army knife (1.5 inch blade) on my keychain, and I had to lock it up too. Of course the ball point pen I had was OK. I guess they did not realize that I could kill a person with a ball point pen faster than with my small knife.

Re: Luzerne County Jury Duty
I am knocking on wood as I type this...
I have never been called for jury duty. I think it might be interesting to sit on a county jury. My manager where I work was just called for federal grand jury duty. Now that is something I would not want. For the entire length of his "service" (which I believe is a month or so) he has to call the courthouse in Scranton every Monday to see if he will be needed that week. Now, that sucks!!
