I don't see mention of AR and AK rifles on the list.
    Are these welcome?

If it's in original military configuration and 6mm or larger caliber, it should be okay.

    AK's (and SKS's) shouldn't be a problem as long as they're 7.62x39 and not 5.45x39.

An AR that is in military configuration should be okay as long as it's 6mm or larger caliber but the match director (not me) will determine if it qualifies.

Pretty sure they purposely left out AR's.

I have to check my schedule because
    A. I enjoy competitions like this
    B. I have wanted to see DCFS
    C. I don't get to shoot my Mosin as much as I like to (I guess I'll have to remove th scout scope)

Any plans to start including the service rifle our military has been using for the last fifty years? (64 to present)

It's kind of the point of this shoot.

The approved rifles include military bolt guns and semi's of either a significant caliber and recoil and/or that were issued 70+ years ago. The stock AR is significantly more accurate than the stock rifles from that era. It's not unusual in these type of competitions to maintain somewhat of a balance by not allowing AR's.

You should do well in this. Now if it involved a course of timed rapid fire, I'd personally would hate to have to use the Mosin, let alone a bolt gun.

I've used it in CMP shoots (unsanctioned club shoots) and can say that the first 5 rapid shots aren't so bad. Reloading the clip and getting the next 5 off are a challenge.

I used to shoot a M1903A, and M1917, and a Finnish Mosin Nagant in our monthly club CMP shoots. Reloading via striper clips suck big time for rapid fire strings. I sold them all and bought a Swiss K31 with a second magazine.
Fist time out with it I shot 269 5X (30 round COF). One of my best scores with a bolt gun. I managed to finish the prone rapid with 15 seconds remaining. I'll have to slow it down a bit now and try to shoot a better rapid string.
