Angry BLACK BEAR INJURED AND REPORTED TO PGC

Approx 600lbs plus, difficulty ambulating crossbow bolt impaled deeply into rear haunch bear has yellow tag in left ear. got my birdfeeder last night and scared my cat from his window perch. Yeah we have nuisance bears but to cause pain and suffering to any animal is disgusting. Hopefully PGC can live trap or decide if bear should be put down !

Friggen slob hunters use their crossbows without practicing with them. That, or they saw black and shot anyway.

You don't typically get this shit from traditional archers. Most practice their craft religiously. I've known guys to buy crossbows the day before the season began.

Doesn't sound like a bad shot from what MD2 said (nuisance bear) could be just some asshole shooting at it.
    Either way, not good.

Actually, in looking at the hunting digest, archery season for bear in this WMU doesn't open for 10 days. This was just poaching.

Just a point I did not mention this bear is 600lbs plus. Having harvested a record bear in 2004 this Bruin was twice his size, And a bitch to get out of game lands with 5 men !

There*s slobs in both crossbow and traditional, taking a shot they should never have. And then there*s the tunnel vision, so focused on the animal that they never see the small branch that deflects an arrow or bolt. Same goes for rifle hunters. Then there*s SLOBS period.

How about a slight miss on a quartering shot coupled with a penetration problem due to large bulk?

Hate to hear about wounded bears. Love bears. Hunted them for years, and love watching cubs play. Fantastic sense of smell, if your in a bear area and leave something they think they want to eat they will come. Jellystone Park is a cartoon, do something stupid, it won't turn out laughable, and then the bear pays with it's life for just being a bear. Laugh or pay heed, at this, it's your choice.
