Re: Mountain Lion sighting
When I lived in Colorado there were pretty regular reports of Mountain Lion encounters. When they get hungry and desperate they will go after pets, and humans. One entered a couple's bedroom through the open sliding door (ground level) and took their 60 lb. Labrador Retriever, then jumped a six foot fence with it in its mouth. The cat killed the dog, then hid it under some brush to come back and get it later. The game officers were there waiting for it when it returned and they put it down.

Re: Mountain Lion sighting
That's the whole reason why I claim bull shit with any nonsense here in PA because typically when a mountain lion find a food source it stakes a claim and will return over and over again until it feels it needs to move on which is not instantly. There are professional trackers and trappers who are hired specifically to permanently run them off or relocate them once they stake up a claim to a ranchers land or peoples yards.

Those rows of large storage containers you see in the parking lot at Walmarts?
You know what's in those, right?
Yep. Mountain lions.

Re: Mountain Lion sighting
Right there is a pet peeve of mine that goes back at least 20 years. You'd think that by now, local news agencies would understand how the internet works and that chances are they're going to get visitors from non-local people to their site. Do they bother to indicate where they're located? Nope, just give street names but no cities. Gotta go to their About Us page to even find an address for the company. How difficult would it be to include their city in their title line? They have all that wasted space to the left of their grade school logo. They could easily put at a minimum the state in which their operating.

From the article
- Mountain Lions weigh from 80-225 pounds (36-103 kg), averaging 140 (64 kg). Length varies from 5-9 feet (150-275 cm); this measurement includes the 26-32 inch (66-82 cm) tail.
- Their range spreads from the Canadian Yukon to Patagonia in South America, the largest of any living mammal in the Americas.
