Re: GILBERTSVILLE Gun Show at Fire Company
The promoter is likely to check concealed weapons. If it's truly concealed, they may not ask, but if in plain view, they may... not sure if they require unloading if you have a permit (you'd have to ask there).
They have not required banding or tie-wrapping weapons that are for sale at Commonwealth shows. Weapons that are being carried in for sale are checked at the door, and must simply be unloaded.

Would anyone with past experience like to chime in on this one? I'm interested but I would like a little insight.

Same here. I may actually make the trek. Gilbertsville was my very first gun show.

Re: GILBERTSVILLE Gun Show at Fire Company
Most of the shows I've been to there have been downright pathetic , with less than half the tables were set up. If there's no other shows within 100mi , it might be worth it.

Re: GILBERTSVILLE Gun Show at Fire Company
The Gilbertsville show is not large. However, the selection can be good, depending on what vendors show up. The nearest show competing for vendors is at the Phila Armory, so vendor turnout should be decent.
If you're looking for bulk ammo, crates of Mosin-Nagants, or jerky and pickles, this probably won't be your type of show. There are usually a few decent size dealers and some collectors there. Most of them have random assortments of guns. You'll see a little bit of everything from antiques to ARs/AKs, old double barrels, hunting rifles/shotguns, plinkers, defense weaponry, collectible arms, militaria, some impressive knives, and who knows what else.
There are deals to be had - show up with some cash and make offers on things you want.
Keep in mind that propagating the mindset that a small show is not worth attending can do a lot of damage. Vendors, attendees, and the promoter all want the show to succeed. Not every show can be 1000 tables, and it only takes "the right thing" to make a show great for someone. I might reconsider attending if you have to make a long drive, but the admission of $6 is not too painful.
We hope to see a bunch of you there.

Excellent jerky and pickles , and everything else edible a mile up the road at Zerns farmers & flea market and freak show. That place can be as , interesting , or bizarre as any gun show.

Small show...yes. You don't have to elbow your way down the aisles or wait in line to view a table and you never know what you may find. 1 or 2 shows ago there I picked up 2 NOS Ruger Mark I 9 round mags in the original packaging for $15 each....about $45 per on ebay.
As for carrying...CC. It's not like they search you.

Re: GILBERTSVILLE Gun Show at Fire Company
Been to this one in the past... very, very small. Went through it in less than an hour. Ended up picking up a used S&W Chief Special 9mm for cheap. Not sure I would drive more than 40 miles to go to this one. If you live in the area, it would be perfect for spending a couple of bucks, browsing and running into friends to shoot the crap. IMHO
