First time open carry and LEO encounter
I'll save you the trouble of reading the whole thing and tell you it was uneventful.
Well, there have been many many robberies and burglaries in my town lately, including a 5 man home invasion. They stole a toolbox from my car on Wednesday, and two bikes from next door. Anyway, I had been delinquent and let my LTCF expire so concealed carry was not a legal option. The burglary was a good wake up, and I went the morning after and applied for a new one.
I needed to walk the dog at about 2am 'cause I fell asleep and missed the 11pm usual walk. I have only carried openly to take out the trash and stuff around the house/yard. I went with the Glock 19c 4'oclock in a Fobus.
I'm walking down the street empty of cars and people due to the hour, and up ahead I spot a police car coming. Here we go I thought, with visions of Dickson City in my head. So I'm wondering if he'll even see it as he drives by and lo and behold the car slows and stops next to me.
Cop is younger black female. She asks me if I have seen any teenagers out and about as there have been break-ins. I turn to point where I had seen one cross the street and fully expose my side and the firearm to her. She says nothing about the gun, asks me to not hesitate to call the police if i see anything suspicious, and is on her way.
It seems Lansdowne police know the law.
Anyway, thanks to Dan and the other forum members who are open with their experiences and supportive of the exercise of our rights. Without this forum and its many excellent participants, I don't think I would have started.

Good report! Keep alert for those lowlife SB's.

Congrats on an uneventful encounter.

Re: First time open carry and LEO encounter
Good to hear. I've had numerous LEO encounters that were similar. Not a word mentioned, like it should be.
