Ruger changed something on SP101s recently. What was it?
Ive seen in the classifieds here that at some point they started using cheaper mim internals. When and what serial number was that? Also and more important I noticed some aftermarket accessories specify that they only fit guns with a certain serial number or lower. What change caused this? Thanks in advance, Brian

Maybe the second part of your question answers the first as to the serial number.
I know there are SP101's that are hammerless. I have one with a hammer, that may be the answer the the accessory question, there's also different length barrels in the line, hard to say without knowing what accessory you were looking at.Last edited by soberbyker; December 22nd, 2014 at 10:49 AM.

It was a set of grips.

For the SP101 they have changed the crane latch, cylinder latch, and front sight to MIM parts. They have not changed the frame so aftermarket grips should fit fine. I don't know the s/n the changes were made.
