Default My friends 30k dollar shotgun

A friend of mine shoots lots of trap, over 40,000 rnds a year. He also uses a 30k dollar Kreighoff. He also has another one he uses for a back up but's it's a little cheaper at about 25k.

Not my cup of tea but they are works of art, I wouldn't even pick it up off the bench.

Snapped a couple pics with my phone.

There is something to be said for guns as art.

I really don't know that I could bring myself to use it. But I guess if you have the means to drop that kind of money on a firearm, using it probably isn't particularly traumatic. Like those folks that drive around in cars that cost more than my house. It's all relative.

Yes, it's all relative. I have a friend who says that my penchant for old Smith & Wessons revolvers is 'too expensive'. Then, you have this fellow with a 30k shotgun. That's half a years salary for a lot of folks. Then, I've seen Holland and Holland Paradox double rifles for sale for more than 100,000!!

All things considered, firearms hobby is not THAT costly, unless you get into the 30k shotguns.

I would have a hard time dropping 30k on any gun let alone a single shot. He also has quite a collection of custom built bolt action rifles that he never uses.

To add to the cost, the Kreighoff chokes cost over $100 each. It's a beautiful gun though.

True, he had a stack of them in blue boxes and said they were 125.00 each.

I can certainly see, if you are not worried about the monthly mortgage and such, spending stupid money on guns. If I was super wealthy I would have one in every color and hunt ever continent. I think it is a great that there is a 30K shot gun and a 100K double rifle.

Beautiful gun. I am pretty sure that at least half of the cost of that firearm is in the engraving and the wood.
Question.: where does your friend do most of his 40K shells a year shooting? My area of PA is distinctly lacking in that type of facility.

I can afford the chokes, just not the shotgun that goes with them.

Those sure are beautiful. I'll never have to worry about scratching one.
