    Default My favorite Glock

Just something about a Gen2 G17, these IMO were arguably the best 9mm's ever made and no doubt the best 9mm Glock ever produced, this is my opinion of course and I'm sure I'm not the only one who believes it.

wholeheartedly agree. gen 2s were the best glocks. no finger grooves that didn't quite fit, no interchangeable backstraps that made the grip feel alien.

they never should have strayed from that.

Glock should have kept making them along with the newer generations, I bet they would be surprised how well they would sell.

I could not agree more! I love my g17 2nd gen, it was my first handgun and will never give it up, and I like the the g19 2nd gen better than my wife gen 4 g19

Have to add that i bought it 7 years ago, it was a retired Paterson nj police dept gun, came with night sights that still work, safari land basket wieved holster, 3 mags(10 rounders), all for 300 bucks. I've got three 17 round mags for it now

This is not an opinion. There is science behind this, making it actual fact.

I am up in the air right now between a Gen 3 or 4 G19. Wish I could find a Gen 2

I also sadly believe that glock has had their reputation damaged by the problems with the gen 4.

the older glocks weren't exactly a swimsuit model, but, you bought it to use it...not date it.

they were reliable to the point of being almost boring. required little to no maintenance to behave flawlessly.

someone thought they could improve on that system.

I love my gen2 G17, Got it 25 years ago and it still runs like a champ ! I am glad they put the finger grooves on my 26 though - makes the little bugger easier to hold on to.
