Re: 223 rolled shoulder when chambering
Me too.
Were the shoulders of these rounds collapsed before or after they were chambered into the rifle?
If they were collapsed before they were chambered then a good inspection was in order.
If they were collapsed during chambering then a case gauge would help, maybe, weed them out.

Re: 223 rolled shoulder when chambering
They were collapsed before clambering. I went through a can of 500-ish reloads from my last reloading run and I found 6 bad rounds as previously posted.
I was inspecting finished rounds by picking them up to look at the primer and giving the case a little shake for an audible confirmation of powder charge.
These rounds with the crushed shoulder are hard to spot with a quick look like that.
When I did 200 rounds the other night I picked up each one to look at the primer, then gave each round a quick twist to look at all sides and make sure it was straight. These bad rounds with the crushed shoulder look perfectly fine from one side so it has to be spun around.
After making my die adjustments I didn't see any bad rounds so I think everything is ok now.In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796
