    Default My "New" Glock "26L"

so i was originally trying to find a gunsmith to do this for me (i was nervous to mess it up) and after going to 4 or 5 different places and each person there gave me a blank stare or asked if it was even legal to do, or saying itd probably have to be a factory job. i said screw it im going to cut my glock 19 down to a 26

just got done smoothing out the mag well, doesnt look like the most professional job but cost me the price of a new 26 magazine. next i'm going to grind off the finger grooves and stipple it

i was going to, but since at the time when i bought my 19 it was doubling as a carry and home gun i like having the option of being able to add a light to it, and just putting in 17 or 19 mags

well i already had the 19, and since i am a smaller framed dude, some shirts that i wear make it difficult to CC, and instead of just going out and buying a new gun i figured id just chop the 19 making it an easier daily carry

Wow, what a waste of money. Should have just had it professionally done or just bought the other frame.

I LOVE my 26, and my 17 just the way they are, but all of my 1911's have dressed up grips. To each his own.
I do hope after the stippling it hides the base scar, but if it fits his hand and he likes it ...

Devil's advocate here: Glock doesn't make what the OP wants. A compact barrel & slide/frame length with a subcompact grip height. The extra barrel & slide length make no difference in how much the gun protrudes above the waistband, but give the OP the rail he wants plus a bit of additional burn time for the propellant (so a bit more speed out the barrel, perhaps more reliable expansion with some HPs). Meanwhile the shorter grip, combined with a G26 mag, makes a less obvious bulge when printing in light clothing.

Not something I would do, but I can see why someone would do it.
