NEVER, I will delete all sniping at one another or snipe to delete those that can't behave.

Anyway, lets try to keep it on track. If we have a bitch about a manufacturer, be specific and include pics. Don't use, "they're junk" and think that's a positive contribution to the thread. None of us want to buy something and learn we screwed the pooch so legitimate warnings about quality are appreciated.

The other thing I will do on occasion is go through and delete chatter. No reflection on anyone but I'm sure someone looking for information isn't going to want to read pages of purple nurples and wet willies.

There are a few things that you can do to increase accuracy out of your gun (removing the shooter as a variability).

    1. Quality barrel
    2. Upper receiver that has a tight fit to the barrel extension. The barrel extension should not easily slip in and out of the receiver.
    3. Bolt
    4. Free float rail

To get precision out of the gun, the shooter has to become consistent and a good trigger will help you do that.

Good tip if you want to check your rifle's accuracy. If you're doing a 5-round group (as you should be doing), put a cheap 6th round in there and pop it off into the berm before you do your grouping. Part of precision is consistency and this allows the BCG to cycle the same from 1st to 5th round. This was taught to me by a guy that knows a thing or two about murdering things from far away.

You're starting to set ground rules. First rule of arfcom-mini is that there are no ground rules!

    As I've posted previously.

An easy way to align the gas block on the barrel is to get a piece of silicon fish tank tubing and force it on the bolt end of the gas tube. By blowing through it while moving the gas block, you can find the point of maximum gas flow.

Never tried this but it makes sense. My method for aligning the gas block is using a fine tip sharpie and marking the hole on the shoulder of the barrel and doing the same on the gas block and lining them up. I'll have to try it your way and hopefully I don't get funny looks from the wife.

...or you could fixture it up in your Hurco and index it perfectly, then use a ball mill to dimple it exactly 180 degrees opposite from the gas port

I'm actually working on a tool that will alleviate all that work (setting it up in a machine). It will be simple. I don't know if I'll manufacture and sell it, if I did, it'd be cheap.

I just use a BRDE dimpling jig. Before dimpling I just check with calipers to ensure the distance of the set screws is the same on the gas block as it is with the dimple holes on the jig. I only put one dimple in unless they are identical. Only time this won't work is if you're using a clamp on.

Standard bi-metal bit for a phosphate coated barrel and a straight flute carbide bit for Melonite/Nitride barrel.

    Hasn't failed me yet.
