Re: AR Building, Accurizing, Tips & Tricks
Apologies for the low-tech question, but does anyone make a "grippy" grip?
Not a "textured" plastic grip - something more "rubbery" for lack of better term.
Also, I have small hands and the finger grooves molded into many grips don't really line up right. Just thought something without them, but that was more "gripable" would be ideal.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

The best grip ever made for ARs;

...I think the term you are looking for is called 'overmold'. I could be wrong, as I don't know much about injection molding.

Ewwww... that's ugly as sin - but I'll keep it in mind.
Looks like the "beavertail"/stop is a plus.
Haven't really tried a different angle grip like that either, but it doesn't have finger grooves and I'll assume it's "grippy" and not hard plastic with a texture molded in.

Re: AR Building, Accurizing, Tips & Tricks
I love the rubbery MOE+ grip, probably getting one for my AK soon.
Random AR tip:
One of the biggest complaints suppressor users have is the gas blow back you get through the opening in the upper receiver for the charging handle. The easiest solution for this is to take some black oil resistant RTV, available at Walmart or any auto parts store, and while pulling the charging handle back, lay a bead on the top of the charging handle where it meets the upper receiver (after cleaning everything of course). Let it go forward into the latched position. After sitting over night pull on the charging handle and the RTV will stay attached to one surface or the other, creating a gasket that significantly reduces the amount of gas that gets blown in your face. It can be trimmed with a razor blade to clean it up.Last edited by JoshIronshaft; December 3rd, 2014 at 03:34 PM.

I don't get whacked in the face too bad on a few of my rifles. Mainly because I have charging handles that have a raised back (pri gas buster, BCM). I do know a few guys do this and it works well. You could put a release agent on whatever part you don't want the RTV to stick to.

I have the BCM as well with the raised portion but I was still getting some decent gassing (11.5" barrel).
There is also a replacement for the forward assist that is supposed to be a gas vent of sorts. Doesn't seem to be very effective on my friend's suppressed SBR though. He literally looks like he's wearing some black face paint on the right side of his face after a few hundred shots.In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796
