Scumbag robbers yelled 'freeze. Police.' when they broke into the house. 2 shot and injured by the homeowner.
Yep, I was working that night, listening to the dispatch an reading the details on the computer. PSP was covering Oley that night. Amity and Central Berks responded to assist. And then Bern Twp responded to the call at St Joes when the two criminals showed up with bullet holes.

As with most home invasions, it's usually because someone's been to that house and knows what's inside, or they know the occupants. In this case, the criminals Intel was late. Their target residents moved out, and the new resident at that address (moved in 3 days prior) was prepared.

Metric shit tons of thefts from unlocked cars, and two residential burglaries at homes with unlocked doors. Occurring overnight hours....... Cumru, Spring, Wyomissing, Mohnton, Shillington area. Same MO, at least two persons.

    Common theme.....unlocked cars and houses.

    Lock your stuff !

Call PD if you see any lurkers in the neighborhood.

Wouldn't doubt it. Spring had something like 20 cars hit a few weeks ago. Wyomissing had two cars stolen last week. Cumru had 7 cars hit and one burglary Thurs night, and another 6 cars and one burg last night. Nothing I know of in Mohnton or Shillington Boroughs, but they're right in the line of fire.

Probably didn't make the news because it was a failed attempt. But Gun Traders on Rt 61 was burglarized again over the weekend. Forced entry was made but the theives fled before getting any inventory. Scared off by the alarm or quick police response, who knows.

When are you guys going to form an Umbrella Thief Task force?

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

As soon as you agree to pay more taxes to fund it.

Doubt it was an alarm or quick police response. I'd bet there was an employee still inside and the burgler didn't like being treated like an asshole.

Burglarized again? When was the last time?
Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.

Lol. Probably. I heard the dispatch and watched the call details come in on the computer. PD got the alarm call and arrived in less than two minutes.

Can't give you an exact date, but it seems that place gets hit once or twice a year. (Just from what I hear on the radio)
