Any word on the Remington R51?

I seem to remember (a quick Google search confirms this) Remington publicly stating that the R51 would be back in production this past October with the issues it was experiencing being remedied. Has anyone heard anything regarding the pistol, or is Remington trying to forget about it like a bad hangover?

Man, they really dropped the ball on that one. Not sure about dates, but would anyone trust a version 2?

Shoulda got it right the first time.

Supposedly they will be replacing all the defective ones with good ones, but it sounds like they are behind schedule.

It was one of the first new guns I made a trip to see at SHOT last year. It was the first and only new gun at SHOT last year that I made my mind up that I wanted nothing to do with it.

I hope they fix it. The trigger felt like shit and there was no tactile reset...then it had the plethora of issues and wasn't as small as we all hopes it to be.

No doubt the gun was a complete dud. I just want one (that actually works) because I think it looks cool. Can't help myself sometimes. Anyways, I haven't heard a word anywhere on the gun. Either it's a nightmare Remington wants to wish away, or production is way behind.

I wonder if anyone on the forum made the mistake of buying one the first time around.
