    Default Found a Norinco I may pick up

    Handled it, and seems to be a solid build. I know about the hard steel used to build these, and some people building race guns on their frames. It has small 3 dot sights, and the finish is ok. No idiot mark. May do for a carry 45.

    I picked one up years ago for a relative song. The seller had no idea of what he had. Accurate and metal is the hardest I have seen on a 45. Dave_n

    Target master has one for $300 right now. Looks like it was shot very little if at all.

    They are good shooters. I stumbled on a commander version last summer and it is a heck of a good gun.

    I passed on one at LGS last year, price was $500 and I thought that was really high. For the $300 above I would absolutely buy it. It seemed like a solidly built gun and has a very good reputation as a shooter.

    A number of years ago Colt and Norinco were the only guns Jim Clark would accept to build his custom pistols on.

    At least you guys are able to get some of the finer Chinese made goods.

    Fortunately for me I bought my Norc 1911 singlestack before Clinton screwed us. ...probably the best $279 I ever spent.

    You actually could, there are exceptions, but you are correct in saying it is not common or easy.
