    Default LTCF references Berks County

Starting today references are no longer required on LTCF applications in Berks County.

You would have to check with Schuylkill County on that.

Sheriff Weaknecht is a great guy and I have a great relationship with him. After prior litigation over an LTCF revocation, he was the first in the Commonwealth to implement an internal appeal process, where he would hear out the applicant and, depending on the circumstances, resolve the matter, whereby the applicant may have to take a class or such but would receive his/her LTCF after successful completion. Other Sheriffs started contacting him for his procedures and handling of such matters.

I guess they only call a reference if there's some sort of flag. I've been a reference many times on other's apps and I've never been called. In fact, of all the people I know who have also been used as references, I don't recall of any other's being called, either. Prolly so many to process these days they simply don't have time to make the calls unless there's due cause. Or, did they never call, but I just didn't know it?

Sheriff Weaknecht may be a great guy on a personal level, but on a professional level how does he justify requiring a class ("or such") when the law clearly does not require training as a prerequisite to the issuance of a LTCF?

Seems to me Sheriff Weaknecht is trolling to get sued again.

The type of class depends on the circumstances e.g. anger management
