Default Wanting to replace my EDC gun

    I carry a Kahr PM40 daily.

What I like about the gun:

    1. Small and easily concealable
    2. No external safety
    3. Reliable (at least it has been for me)
    4. Accurate
    5. I like ballistics of .40 S&W

What I don't like about the gun

    1. 5 round flush mag and 6 round extended (low capacity)
    2. With flush mag I can not get all fingers on the grip
    3. Too light of a gun to be comfortable shooting much at the range

Although I shoot this gun (quite a bit) it's not comfortable to shoot. After 50 rounds I really want to put it down.

I would like to stay with .40 S&W as I like the ballistics (and also have several thousand rounds of it).

Thoughts on a concealable .40, heavy enough to eat up some of the snap of the caliber but not make me lean to one side while wearing it? Would like at least 10 rounds, DAO or DA/SA with no external safety. Would like to stay in $500 or less range.

I've never owned a Glock but have shot them. I am more comfortable with the long heavy feel of a double action trigger for carry and not sure how I would adjust to a Glock trigger.

    Maybe a G27 or a Shield 40.

How about one of the larger Kahr pistols like the p40 or the cw40. You're familiar with the platform and trigger and most likely already have holsters for it. You'll get another round of two and full fingered grip

Glock with a NY1 trigger spring/3.5# connector might fit the bill.

From a guy on ebay who sells the parts...

"The combination of a NY1 spring, used with a 3.5# connector, lowers the pull weight back down to 5 or 6 pounds, but keeps the double action revolver feel. Some shooters like this combo a lot because it offers a surprise break, the pull is not too heavy for accurate shooting, and the trigger resets positively. The NY2 and 3.5# connector combo offers a pull of about 9-10 pounds - similar to the pull weight of a tuned double action revolver."
Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass.

MY wife really likes her M&P shield & before we bought it I asked about them on the forum. I received several pages of positive replies.

That said, Kahr does make larger firearms, and given their excellent reputation & your personal satisfaction with yours I wonder if you should not strongly consider one of these?

I am giving thought to the CW40 as I like the platform, it's a little larger, fits in my price range and would fit my holster but I only get one more round (6+1)

Does a small decocking lever count as a safety to you?
If not how about a CZ P06?

Good looking gun but appears about $100 above my price range new. I'll have to take a look and see what they are running for used.

P-07 for less expensive. Does have a safety though.
