PTG 1911 barrel bushing mandrel
So I decided to fit a Wilson Combat oversized bushing to tighten up the slide to barrel fit on my Colt Gold Cup Trophy.
I ordered the PTG mandrel from Brownells and waited. Upon receiving the mandrel, noticed that it wasn't made to be put in a lathe between two points. Ok, got the bushing in the mandrel, and the mandrel dead nuts into the chuck. Taking a mic reading nearest the chuck, it was dead center, however the bushing was reading .03 out and the farthest point of the mandrel was reading .067 out...After screwing around for 45 minutes and could not get all three points dead nuts, took the chuck off, and placed the bushing between 2 centers....Bushing was concentric. Conclusion, tool was a waste of $64Last edited by strokelessone; November 7th, 2014 at 10:31 PM.
