I probably can't make it, but it would be interesting for one of us to attend to see what they're actually teaching - i.e., are they properly teaching the law, etc., or are they selling a political line..

Sheriff Bono is pro-2A so I doubt there is a political line that you'd object to.

I'm going to sign up, and bring my niece. Obviously we both know what we're doing, but I never pass up a chance to meet-and-greet with the sheriff. Will be good to see what they're teaching and not teaching. From the article, either he really educated the author, or the author himself is educated.

    However, there's this math problem:

“Based on what I’ve seen, the number of permits is constantly increasing,” Bono said.
This is incorrect math. If there are 50000 permits, and they expire every 5 years, you can guess that on average 833 need to be renewed each month to keep steady-state. He says only 275 are renewed per month, and then 325 new are being added. So that means 558 are expiring unrenewed, and then 325 new, for a net loss of 233 permits per month, or 2800 per year. Not increasing. It may seem like a lot to the guy processing them, but fewer are being issued than are expiring.

Good for him offering these classes. If it even introduces one person to their rights, if it saves just one life (isn't that the antis motto?), it's worth it. I wonder if I can bring down the boxes and boxes of unused gun locks I have and donate them?

“The right to bear arms is absolutely guaranteed by our constitution. But along with that right comes certain responsibilities and one of the most important responsibilities is the responsibility of handling weapons, firearms particularly, in a safe manner and keeping them locked up in a safe place,” Sheriff Russell J. Bono said as he unveiled the program.

"FAIL", but he has his opinion and I have mine.

The Allegheny county sheriff did the same type of seminar(s) last year and a few of us forum members attended.
It was actually pretty decent for the most part.

Be sure to report back with how it went if you go.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Pro 2A enough to abolish the check card garbage and issue on the spot?
