Re: So you CAN concealed carry in Philadelphia?
Request for clarification...
Are those 55 acres under control of NPS something other than a National Park? I suppose the buildings are under the usual Federal building restriction, but even the grounds?

Re: So you CAN concealed carry in Philadelphia?
18 USC 930 prohibits guns in buildings with federal workers, says nothing about the grounds surrounding such buildings.

Re: So you CAN concealed carry in Philadelphia?
I had to go to the testing center in Conwell Hall last week. CC'd SEPTA bus and Broad St. subway as well as into the Hall and testing center. There was a security guard once inside the Hall. All visitors had to sign in. No other security measures.
Also CC'd at Valley Forge Nat'l Park (I know... outside of Phila proper) last weekend. No issues there either. Had to stay out of the Visitors Center, but used the facilities next to the parking area. No federal employees in the bathroom.... LOL

I was reading this thread and didn't realize that someone brought back an almost 6 year old post when I saw Meleanie's post talking about her husband. Creepy.

Re: So you CAN concealed carry in Philadelphia?
Sorry for the add, but just wanted to clarify that the Constitution Center is not a NPS building. It's a non-profit, non-partisan organization on donated land. The employees are not NPS employees. When I was there last week, there were no Federal park police in the building and there were no no-gun signs on the doors.

Re: So you CAN concealed carry in Philadelphia?
Post office is not "their opinion." There is a separate federal law for postal facilities, carry in a post office is not prohibited by 18 USC 930.
However, VA healthcare facilities started posting their campus grounds a few years ago (under Obama), saying no weapons are allowed on the grounds. But the signs specifically reference 18 USC 930, and 18 USC 930 specifically is limited to "buildings" where federal employees are normally engaged in their work.
That said, I can't afford to become the test case for VA hospitals. Wish I could, because I'm sure the VA would lose.
