    Default .17 HMR Revolver

I'm in the market for a used .17HMR revolver. It will be used for target plinking and something to bring along for a little fun on squirrel hunts. I don't want to spend a ton of $$$. Any suggestions? I was eyeing up the Chippa 10 shot. I have not found any reviews on it. Thanks in advance.

Does anybody make a small compact carry in .17hmr? I'd consider it if they did.

I had a Smith revolver in .17HMR when they first came to market. This revolver had an 8" barrel. What makes the little .17 bullet work is speed. However, no matter how many times I ran a bullet across a chronograph from this revolver, it would get just around 1,900fps. That's not enough speed to make the little pill do what it's suppose to do.

I sold the gun to a target shooter for $250. That was around 8 or 9 years ago.

Gun Broker always has a couple Tauruses that run under 4 bills. They are sometimes a factory refurbish that carries full warranty less anything cosmetic. The Tracker 17HMR is a decent revolver and when you compare the price for the gun you get, it's a great deal.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

I'm going to take a ride to Tanners tomorrow to see what they have in the used case.

I've done really well with my Taurus Tracker in .17 HMR.

It's a legitimate 50 yard squirrel gun with a 2-4 power scope on it and it carries nicely in a bandolier holster in front of my chest.

The DA trigger is horrible but I don't think I've ever fired it that way.

I picked mine up used from a friend of mine. I don't remember what I paid for it but I think it was under three bills.
