    It's the way things are now. The sheriff is taking his cue from Holder and Obama and just doing what he wants.

    We've been over this a number of times. By law the sheriff is mandated to conduct an background investigation. Every sheriff in every county does it differently. Do I agree that he should demand the berkheimers? No, I do not. But until someone challenges him in court, that's the way it is. So if you have a lot of money to waste then step up to the plate. I do know for a fact that in a number of cases where a person is retired or otherwise did not have to file a berkheimers the stipulation was removed.

    Boy, people complain about the hassle of going into downtown Picksburgh to get their license.

    A copy of a DD-214? Why? A doctor's note? Why? Tax return? I can see that a little bit for establishing residency. After all, I could use a friend's address, get some bills sent there and then try to use that to establish residency whilst really living in New Jersey.

    Makes me glad that I live on the left side of the state.
