I have a Para GI Expert. Great 1911. Just replace the magazines. The ones that come with it are crapola.
A Republic, if you can keep it.

Live and learn and use your money wisely and all that shit...blah, blah, blah. I'm choking on my words, now, as we're looking at another Patolman's for $550, new in box......and it's a Remy built one. Go figure.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Picked up one of the Para Elite Officer models with Crimson Trace grips from CDNN about a month ago. It's been a good gun; reliable. Has about 500 rounds through it now. Forged slide and frame as well. They also did a good job blending the rear of the slide and frame, plus has a tight fit. Can't complain for the price I paid.
Don't wish ill for your enemies. Plan it.

I finally got around to putting the Hogue finger grip back on Mrs 300WM's Para Expert commander carry gun. Took it to the range after retuning the disco and sear springs, some, and added a bit more GS tension (got it breaking right at 3.5lbs). I hadn't shot it with the Hogue on it or the lighter trigger pull and all I can say is we know why we like 1911's for target shooting (the Hogue on that gun is freaking awesome). One 12ga slug size hole at 21' with 8 shots. Did it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke and got the same result. It shoots extremely well.

Mrs. 300 gets the 1911 and I'm stuck with a Glock. Head slamming wall time, again.

Picked one ( Expert stainless ) up at Tanners Sports last Friday for $449 and after $100 rebate, the final cost to me is $349. Took it to Classic Pistol last night and put 100 rounds through it. Very accurate and not one issue.

Extremely pleased and still cannot believe it cost me $349. Love the trigger pull .

I have to stay away from Tanners. Every time I go there I buy another gun.
