Who is heading out for Muzzleloader tomorrow?
I got all my stuff together (I think) and I'm getting ready to drive up to the Hawley area. Got my Hawken rifle and a fresh flint.
Bumming that the Delaware State Forest and much of Promised Land are closed, I now have to find someplace new without any advanced scouting.

Get a message to Frein, ask him to go into NY or NJ, he's wrecking the hunting season.

Having some coffee and looking at the wind to figure out where I want to hunt. Headed to the target rich environment of Hershey's freshly cut corn fields.

Headed out to camp in a bit with the smokepole and the .410 contender. Pretty windy and drizzly looking out there.

Settled in a spot on some high ground around 6am. Sun came up
Revealed that what had been a small creek in the springtime was now bone dry. Saw no indications of any wildlife. Eric must have scared it all away.
Back at the cabin to help my host get it set up for winter. We will try another area this afternoon.

Saw a total of 7 deer. Three doe, a spike buck, two button buck and a fawn. Exciting morning and cocked the hammer several times but only the spike buck gave me a clear shot. Lots of cover.

Re: Who is heading out for Muzzleloader tomorrow?
Went to SGL 183 in the afternoon.
Roamed around the area between the famous Route 6 range and the Hawley Gun Club property. Found a great spot to sit, someone had stacked up a pile of flat rocks against a tree to make a nice chair. Saw nothing but chipmunks. Move to a feed plot for sundown but nothing there.
I only saw one hunter, a local guy whose favorite hunt spot is closed due to the manhunt. He had not seen any either. We compared our Hawkin flintlocks and parted ways.
Met up with my friends who were scouting other areas and we ended the day with hot wings at the Boathouse on art 507.
Next week I will try 5C

Re: Who is heading out for Muzzleloader tomorrow?
Variable weather day Saturday, did not get far from camp. Saw a doe but couldn't get close enough. Did get 2 nice size gray squirrel with the Contender .410, one of them while I was sitting in a lawn chair behind camp
