browning .40 vs. .40 hi power

Can anyone tell me the difference between a browning .40 and the browning .40 cal hi power. My father attempted to ask this on Browning's website and the wanted $25 to give an answer. Kind of jive og browning if you ask me considering he's owned his hi power for 15+ years.

Browning and or Browning High Power are the sameor basically possibly difference in options? If you where looking 9mm, i would say CZ75 was also a close call.

All are made of the same basic model that Browning originally drew. FEG is also a close copy.
There was once a Charles daly copy also, The original Browning was supposed to replace the 1911 or be a close competitor, that is where it is now.

Basically, its like asking about Colt 1911.. there are so many copies out there...

To the best of my Knowledge, the Browning Originally made by FN arms Belgium /Herstal was slightly different to the High power..
It was a little more like the 1911, but the front of the slide was roundish..



The high power, designed to be a rugged version of the 1911, had a curved grip. (link to the Browning 1911 makings)


As I said, the CZ75 is basically a 9mm version of this same gun.

I don't know what "Jive OG" is but I poked around on Browning's web site and you can get questions answered for free. It costs $40 to get a factory letter.

We need more information before we can answer your questions. You've basically asked "what is the difference between a red apple and an apple that is red?"
