    Default Gouldsboro SGL range open?

My wife says she thought she saw someone post that the Gouldsboro SGL range was closed right now for lead recovery .... is this true? I checked the state's website and found nothing and searched around but I can't find anything about it right now.

    thanks

I only heard about Tobyhanna, too. I was up at Gboro last week and saw nothing. I hope it's open...this is my only week off this year and want to get in some range time during the week when it's not crowded.

The range is still open. I was there for a couple hours today (decided to leave after the guy next to me decided to look down the barrel of his loaded revolver)...no signs posted as to any closure. As usual, there were no PGC officers there to ask though.

I called the PGC to find out what happened to the firing range at SGL 285, and they said they were doing lead cleanup on all of their ranges, across the state.

The range at SGL 285 (Chippewa, Beaver County) is now permanently closed. There were five dead deer rotting away, which the officer said was probably done by another officer who dragged them off the road and dropped them there, but the benches and target stands were gone, and the place was waist-deep in weeds.

Now I have to find another place to shoot.
