Applicants are not required to submit reference forms, but are still required to list two references and their information.

That's not what they agreed to.

By state law Philly (and all other counties) are required to use a single form published by the PA State Police. That form, as written by the PSP, contains spaces for two references. (Philly used to have additional, more onerous forms re: references).

I think that requirement should go away statewide, and this might be a step in the direction of that happening, but for now Philly is doing the right thing by using the form that contains places for two references.

I filed my paperwork today. Pointman73 is right. I brought my paperwork to 990 Spring Garden filled out except references, but the clerks insisted that I fill the boxes on the paper. Being already in the hole for the $20.00 money order and $11.00 passport photo, I decided not to push my luck.

A civic rights crusader might get away with it, but the clerks were pretty clear that references had to be provided. I waited at least a half an hour for my references to confirm before I could leave my application complete.

    *fingers crossed*

What passport photo? There's no requirement to provide a passport photo when applying for a license to carry firearms.

(This is sarcasm, sort of. There really isn't any such requirement, legally. More Philly B.S. that needs to be challenged, and should have been addressed in the recent settlement.)

Thanks for posting your recent experitence. I do know two references I could use but I shouldn't have to!

My partner lady and I are waiting till after the new year to see if the form actually gets altered. I think, in the articles I read, that that was when it's supposed to go down.

Yeah, 60 days from the singing into law, so starting the new year they can no longer legally do whatever they want and not expect legal action where they have to foot the bill if found guilty.
