Star Grips
I have a Star M43 9mm with black Rubber grips. Does anyone know who might be able to make me a nice set of wood grips for this to dress it up a bit?

You could try these guys. I don't see the m43 listed, but it might be worth wild to contact them they seem to cater Spanish gun owners.

Re: Star Grips
I've seen them for the model B's and the PD's but never for the Firestars. Just don't over rotate the safety when you take them off.
I'm sure you know all about that

Re: Star Grips
Actually, other than regular takedown, I haven't removed the grips.

Re: Star Grips
When you remove the grips, the safety lever can now over rotate down. The detent plunger and spring will shoot out and bounce off your forehead and into oblivion. You can usually find the spring but not the detent ball.
A good way to do it is get a ziplock freezer size bag take it apart inside that just in case. Keep your thumb tight on top of the safety lever and slowly rotate the lever down. Keep your thumb held still to prevent the plunger and spring from launching out of its hole as you uncover them with the lever. Slowly release the pressure of your thumb and let the spring extend. Remove the detent ball and spring and put in a safe place.
It's kind if a bitch getting it back in too. I've used both my thumb and a small screwdriver to hold them down to put the safety lever back in position. Both methods suck. The thumb way seems to cut down on the risk of premature launch. It takes some practice so I definitely recommend doing in in the bag.
Edit: I almost forgot! This is on the left side of the gun, where your thumb would be if holding it in your right hand. Firestars have ambidextrous safeties but the plunger is on the left side.
Sarco used to have a lot of parts for the Firestars. I think they bought all of Interarms' inventory when they went under. CDNN bought all the mags.
Here's a link where you can download Star Manuel's for free. I don't think they go much into full disassembly but it's a good reference to have.

Awesome. So I can just bring the whole thing up to Quakertown.
No, I will do as you suggest. The bag is a great idea.

Re: Star Grips
Might wanna try Tombstone grips.
Think they're all plastic, but they show grips for the Firestars. Might find something to spruce it up.

Dennis Marschal can make grips for any oddball gun and does nice work.
Of course, he's not "local"...or in the USA but look at the craftsmanship here:
