AR Mags
I just put an Adams Arms midlength on layaway at Bud's so I would like some input on mags. I've used AK's for a couple years and the 'standard' is the Eastern European 30 round milsurp for 47 and the Bulgy polymer for 74. Add some Circle 10 waffles if you have money to burn, then a few 20's and bakelites for good measure.
So, what are good 30 round mag choices for the AR? My quick research gives good reviews to Lancer and Magpul. I suspect USGI surplus would be excellent choices also. Thanks for a starting point.

Re: AR Mags
I believe that Magpul are of high quality and at this point in time cheap enough to stack deep. A good alternative are the Lancer 30's. I own only two USGI mags, but see no advantage to them.

Re: AR Mags
Lancer, magpul, tapco, gi or even troy (yes I said the evil t word) will do and I go with whatever is cheapest. $7.80 for an m2 pmag is pretty hard to beat.

Re: AR Mags
I have both. I have 15 Pmags & maybe 40 USGI mags. The Pmags are OK, but I just prefer the USGI's.
Bravo Company has some with enhanced Magpul followers on sale for $100/10."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Re: AR Mags
as said above, pmags are pretty much considered the standard these days. I have lancers and troys as well, both have issues in some of my rifles (troys don't work with the bolt hold open on my bushmasters, the lancers don't drop-free in the tavor and a couple of AR's) the pmags work fine in all of them.
As far as aluminum mags go, d&h's are really good (and can be had for around $7 a pop) C-products/ASC are OK, not quite as well made as the d&h's.

Re: AR Mags
Thanks to all. Do you guys prefer windowed or windowless? Didn't think of that. I guess the windowless would be nice to see how many rounds you have, but really worth the extra? I'm thinking not.

Magpul. I've had zero issues with any of their mags.
