dead students or dead criminals?
http://nevadasagebrush.com/blog/2008...s-on-campuses/
UNR Police Chief Adam Garcia said the police department would also be against any proposals to allow permit carriers to carry guns on campus, though they would enforce the policy if it did become law.
“Most police officers would rather respond to a shooting, not a shootout,” Garcia said.
soooooooo, what chief garcia is saying, is that he'd rather arrive on scene to draw a chalk outline around the body of a student, than arrive on scene to shoot a bad guy?

Re: dead students or dead criminals?
That's the way I read it.
That guy shouldnt be in law enforcement."The rifle is the weapon of democracy. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military. The hired servants of our rulers. Only the government-and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws." (Edward Abbey, "The Right to Arms," Abbey's Road [New York, 1979])
I have my rifle. Do you?

I read it that way as well. Too bad this guy doesn't remember that when he and his brothers took their jobs, it might mean having to put their necks on the line to save a life. If they have a problem with that, they should leave the job.
His argument has no logic. If the guy is more interested in responding to a shooting as opposed to a shootout, basically saying that they have no interest in helping innocent victims, then they shouldn't be against proposals that allow the law-abiding citizens to defend themselves. If there's gonna be a chalk line drawn anyway, I'd rather it be an outline of the aggressor's body as opposed to the victim's."Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"
