The one I have is as old as me. With the older machines you had to let them more or less cool alittle between seals. The good part is you can load up a bag, open and take out what you want and then reseal. Works great for sealing up rare ammo, one being 375 JDJones, pita to find.

    Necro thread......

Good info in this thread concerning bags. I'm going to purchase a non-commercial sealer for home use. I don't need the commercial type for my usage.

Any brand or type I should avoid. A couple of ones on Amazon in the $150 range caught my eye.

    Thanks y'all.

Been using Food Saver bags. Bought some cheaper bags, and some didn't hold vacuum and/or tore easily.

I have one, it works very well.
Just don't get the bags, they suck compared to others.

My experience is to watch you do not vacuum meat juices into the pressure switch, it will ruin the unit

I've ordered these bags (need to order more again soon), and I haven't had a problem with them using them. They seal properly every time.

They dont seal as good (double seal them).
    I use these https://www.amazon.com/Vacuum-Sealer...lers+Unlimited

The best ones so far, even better than the ones from sweet attack (no longer using that name).

I prefer this sealer. Works great for pretty much everything I wanted to use it for:

    https://www.vacmasterfresh.com/vacma...vacuum-sealer/

Very nice when sealing stuff for the sous vide. Has an oil filled vacuum pump so it is very very quiet.

Plus you don't have to get special bags for it since it is a chamber sealer. And you can actually vacuum seal water if you want without messing up the unit.
