I sealed up nine bags of chili tonight. It did a real good job of it. No real complaints.

Hey, does anyone know if you can put vacuum sealer bags in the microwave? I'm wondering if I can heat up one of those bags of chili in the microwave.

Not without venting it. Otherwise BOOM!

Well, I figured that much. My question was really about the bag melting or not.

If you have a tomato based product, yes it probably will. For some reason tomato sauces and such get extra hot in a microwave, and I've seen it melt plastic.

Probably the acidity of the tomato.

OK - well, I just boiled it in a big pot of water. Turned out fine. I got two big bowls of chili for lunch, out of one of the smaller-sized bags. Just enough for my lunch! I'm glad I hit on this idea.

You have to set the power to 4 or 5 and nuke it a bit longer. Stirring helps too.

If it's plain sauce, I just heat it on the stove.

Is it not good to heat plastic/ oil products with food in them and consume it?

The freezer labels I bought suck. They don’t seem to stick very well.

I’m trying the cloth tape labels that came with my label maker this time.

I just use a sharpie marker, but then, I don't write the price/lb on the bags.
