Hello - new here (Moving to PA)
Hello all,
New guy here, I be moving to the area from Ohio within the next month or so and just had a few questions maybe some of you could help me with. I've been looking alot of information up for myself but wanted to get some first hand accounts. I only have 2 questions.
First, I have a CHL in the state of Ohio. I have been looking up information to obtain my license in PA and have noticed that when applying, the sheriff requests 2 references but they must be from the county you are registering in. This poses a problem as I literally know no one in PA. Is this only in select counties or all PA counties?
Second, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on firearms dealers in the area. I was lucky in Ohio to have a few within 50 miles or so of my home and just wondered what my options were around the area.
I know these are pretty basic questions I could find by myself in time, but I figured it was a way to say hello and get some feedback from people. Thanks in advance for your time and responses.

Re: Hello - new here (Moving to PA)
When I applied for my LTCF, I gave two references who were in Florida and one in Philadelphia.
They never even contacted any of them, and I was approved.
I don't even remember it saying county residents.

Erie County doesn't ask for county specific references either.
I gave 2 NYC references, they were never contacted.
I guess all counties are different. Erie is easy and the sheriff is pro-gun, which is probably a great help in obtaining the LTCF.

As has been stated, you can list just about anyone in Allegheny county (the county that you said you are looking at). I listed two from SC and neither was contacted.
The biggest (and also most expensive) indoor range in the area is in Moon. They also have a pretty large selection of firearms. It is called Bullseye. Ace Sporting Goods in Washington claims to be the largest gun dealer in PA and is about 40 miles away.

Just a heads up before you kick yourself later.
You are going to want to find a place to shoot. You are also going to want to come to the Group Shoots. Better to find a place to live East of Pittsburgh now. So you don't have the "I'm on the other side of town" excuses.
PMSC is the place to be!Koli's back from Ambler.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. I discovered it was Beaver County that lists both references must be from that county - my mistake. Thanks again.
