Military Rifle Shoot at DCFS on Sunday, 9/14

This Sunday from 9:00AM to Noon the Delco Field & Stream Assn high-power range will be holding a military rifle bench rest match.

The match consists of 10 record shots @ 100 yards from the bench position using military surplus and civilian versions of military rifles. Both front and rear support is permitted, although the use of a unitized rest where the front and rear supports are joined (e.g. lead sled) is not permitted.

Three classes are:

"As Issued" sight rifles: Any military service rifle or civilian version thereof, other than an AR-15 or M16, using non-optical sights as typically issued with the rifle in military service.

"Any other sight" rifle: Any military service rifle or civilian version thereof, other than an AR-15 or M16, using a non-optical sight which was not typically issued with the rifle for military service. For instance, an M1 Garand or M14/M1A using a "national match" hooded rear sight would fall into this class, as would any other military service rifle employing a "ghost ring" or diopter sight which was not typically issued with the rifle in military service.

AR-15 Class: Any AR-15 type rifle which uses iron/open sights consisting of a front post and rear aperture.

Rifles using any glass (scopes or red dots) may not be used in any class. The match director reserves all rights to determine what class, if any, a particular rifle may shoot in.

Rifles other than AR-15's will shoot at a TQ-4 (8" bull) target. AR-15 class rifles will shoot at an MR-31C (5.75" bull) target. Standard NRA scoring rules apply. A shot touching the line will receive the higher score. # of X's break ties, then 10's, 9's, etc.

Match fee is $8. Competitors may only shoot one rifle in each class for record score. Payouts will be determined based on the number of competitors in each class.

This shoot is open to the public. You do not have to be a DCFS member to participate.
