Thanks for that. Interesting presentation, especially the speculation that several of the Earps carried the large-frame S&W top break revolvers rather than the iconic Colts.

Glad someone liked that. Hope others see it. It's just a shorty short...

I enjoy those old stories ... Don't know that much about the Players and what they were slinging... But it's fun to think about.

I am more into WWII history. The LGS in Philly has a bunch of WWII Lugers... STAMPED... Real deals

The S&W #3 is a bit slower on the draw and to fire than a Colt due to the different geometry of the hammer and grip shape, however reloading is faster than even a modern swing our cylinder gun.

    It is very accurate though.

Without burning through the bandwidth, which of the #3 did the Earps supposedly use? The American model, Schofield or Russian variants?

Funny that you posted this, I've been really researching these lately. I'm probably going to get either a repro of a SAA or a Schofield in the near future.

I have a Russian Model repo made by Uberti. I love it, but I'll be the first to say it is not everyone's cup of tea.

A good friend of mine bought one of the S&W custom shop Schofield 2000 models when it was being made. All I can say is WOW!
